CUTS FOR CONFIDENCE

November 27,2021

We are very excited about our first program initiated by the Nick 4 Mental Health Society. We are calling it “Cuts for Confidence”In his last Instagram post, our son Nick, posted a picture of a young boy after having cut his hair and his post was as follows: “There’s nothing like boosting the confidence of the next generation….”So we thought it fitting to name this initiative: “Cuts for Confidence” to carry on with our sons wish to boost confidence.
We have donated money to Maverick Studio For Men - Halifax Shopping Centre (which is the barber shop nick was working at). The money was used to buy gift certificates for free haircuts to be used by North End Parent Resource Centre to be given to youth to (as Nick put it) boost the confidence of the next generation. We will also be approaching more barbershops locally here in Pictou County to see if they would be willing to participate in our program.

We were able to find out more about what this wonderful group of students are doing! This is a volunteer group of students that donate their time to organize and run a free breakfast and lunch program for students at their school in addition to hygiene products and clothing…. We were so inspired by their hard work and dedication to this program! We are pleased to announce that the Nick 4 Mental Health Society donated $2000 to this very worthwhile and inspiring program run by the students themselves! They are always in need of food items, gently used clothing and hygiene products that can be dropped off at the school! Please donate to them if you can….. it feels good to help!!
